WHAT WE DO

Next Door Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that provides service for the residents at senior/nursing homes. Each weekend, foods of a certain theme (ie. breakfast foods, fall-themed foods, Thanksgiving foods, etc.) are given to Marlboro of Sunrise to remind the residents that they are not alone and have people that care about them. These foods are provided by and made by volunteers, who are each assigned a certain task each weekend; around 2-3 volunteers are needed each weekend, depending on the amount of food that has to be prepared.

While everyone is facing the pandemic, we believe that senior citizens are dealing with the most. As they cannot interact with anyone outside of their senior home because of safety reasons, they are not able to enjoy the entertainment of others, especially their families and loved ones. By volunteering and helping out with this service, your act of kindness will for sure make a difference in a senior's day!
